I’m going to South Korea & Taiwan!

Quarantine’s been lifted, and I’m going travelling again! Obviously, there’s still a lot of precautions I should – and will – be taking. I’m both excited and nervous, as this is my first vacation since COVID.

Life has changed quite a bit, and I’m working full-time now, although not where I’d originally seen myself 3 years ago. I feel like my ability to express myself has dwindled, and I’m pretty sure I can’t keep the same tone I’ve used in the past for writing these blogs. Perhaps that’s a good thing, as that means more photos, and less… actual writing. In fact, if you’re reading this, I guess I finally decided to publish this! Having logged in again for the first time since 2018 (apparently), I’ve found many written, but unpublished blog posts on my account, all written ages ago, before COVID.

Anyway, I’m currently planning a trip to South Korea and Taiwan – two places I’ve wanted to go to since before I went abroad for school. I suppose the good news is, I’ve learned a little more about the language and culture of each now, hopefully enough to not be completely lost! The Taiwan part of the trip was actually quite last minute, as there were quarantine restrictions up until Oct 2022 that made it impossible for me to visit!

I’ll be travelling solo again, although I’ll have some meet-ups during part of my trip. For me, travelling solo is my way of relaxing, of getting a chance to see and do things I want to do, without catering to things I’m not really interested in. So far, I’ve pencilled in some cool UNESCO heritage sites, shopping, relaxing, and night-markets, although nothing’s really set in stone yet.

Time to get planning!
